Hunger can happen to anyone, at any time. Everyday, people in our community wonder where their next meal will come from. Help share hope through a hot meal.

WELCOME TO THE NEW RESCUE MISSION ALLIANCE, ANTELOPE VALLEY

For more than 50 years, the Rescue Mission Alliance has helped individuals in need in a variety of ways, including food distribution, hot meals, shelter and recovery programs. We now have the honor of expanding our ministry to the Antelope Valley, and have officially taken over the operation of the Rescue Mission Alliance Antelope Valley.

The AV Dream Center was founded nearly 10 years ago by John and Denise Perry, who began by feeding hot dogs to the neighborhood, and offering coloring books and activities to children. Their hearts have been to reach the unreached people of the Antelope Valley, and surrounding communities, who do not reside near assisting resources. With the help of hundreds of volunteers and thousands of hours, the AVDC now ministers to roughly 1,500 families each month. Through partnerships with churches that act as pantries on the weekends, the AVDC provides fresh produce and a variety of food for the Antelope Valley area.

We at RMA are extremely grateful to be given this opportunity to begin ministering to one of the greatest areas of need in Los Angeles County. Food insecurity is a major issue, as 21 percent of the population in Palmdale and nearly 23 percent in Lancaster fall below the poverty line. Homelessness numbers are double that of any area that we currently have a mission located in. It has been a desire of ours for the past few years to provide services to this area and through our partnership with AVDC, this has now become a reality.

Thank you for your support during this time of transition. We can’t wait to see this ministry grow.

SERVE DAY

Serve Day is held on the last Saturday of the month. Volunteers will meet at 8:00 a.m. at our location on 43145 Business Center Pkwy #106, Lancaster, CA 93535, back parking lot. We load up the Mobile Food Trucks and take them out to different sites in the AV.

Our goal is to make connections and build relationships with people so we can share the love of God and find a way to serve them.

Everyone has something to give, whether it's a helpful hand, a loving smile, good food, or a job skill. If you are interested in serving on a regular basis, or once in a while, we would love to have you join us.
